Micaceous Iron Oxide

Micaceous Iron Oxide is a high build intermediate/finishing paint using the lamellar shape of the iron oxide to greatly enhance the barrier protection. It is a quick-drying alkyd-based paint pigmented with micaceous iron oxide and inert pigments.

It is used as an intermediate/finishing coat over Castle High Build Zinc Phosphate Primer.

This type of coating is often specified when long-life systems are required e.g exterior structural steel, off-shore installations, harbour installations, bridges etc.

Drying Time (Hard Dry): 3 Hours

Overcoating Time: Min. 2-3 Hours  |  Max. Unlimited

Surface Preparation: Apply as an intermediate/finish coat over High Build Zinc Phosphate Primer.

Practical Coverage: 8 sqm/litre on smooth surfaces

Storage: Always store and transport in a secure upright position. Store the closed container in a cool dry place. Keep away from extremes of temperature.
